 I’ve even planned the day we meet
A stormy Saturday in Spring –

She wears my slippers on her feet
I wear a graceful suffering –
The look becomes me

She gives a sharp peroxide laugh
That cracks our wedding photograph
And shatters all the rules..

Shows the gaps in her painted youth

His face becomes a ghostly grey
His eyes are filled with soft regret

It slowly smoulders

The fire spreads, I stand serene 
As she is burnt out of the scene
In flammable high heels…
